A quick overview of this site:

In the introduction we'll go over a short history of the blues on piano.  From there we'll look at the basic form of the blues.  The most common form of the blues that students begin with is what's called the 12 bar blues.  This is a sequence of 12 measures in a very predictable pattern that loop - sometimes until late into the night!

In the following chapters we'll talk about such blues benchmarks as the tritone, the blues scales, static riff, left hand walking-bass techniques, and more blues riffs than you can shake the proverbial stick at.  This site is a incredible amount of fun!

Posted in high resolution video, you can check out all the piano blues riffs, tricks and techniques up close on the keyboard.

Chapters 1 through 9 of the blues piano course are posted on our main blues website (see link above).  However, you can download and view the first few sections of all successive chapters as well - there is a dump truck load of material here!

Although this blues course starts from the ground up, it's designed to work hand-in-hand with our course titled "Pattern Piano and Keyboard". in addition we have a huge online video piano lessons library covering diverse styles such as 'Phat' Chord Voicings,  Latin music, ear training, intros fillers and turnarounds, black gospel music, the list is huge.  You can check out all of the advanced piano lessons here.
